Success Story Advocacy for Person with Disability

Chinmaya Umang president Mr.Rinku and Sectreatry Ms. Neelam Kumari and Mr. Balbir Guleria from CORD met with Sh. Rajiv Saizal, Honorable Minister Social Justice & Empowerment Government of Himachal Pradesh on 11th January 2018. They have submitted a request letter to him to implemenet and notified the guidelines of Rights of Person with Disability Act 2016 in the State of Himachal Pradesh for the benefit and empowerment of person with disabilities. Minister assured them for the relevent action accordingly.

Next day on 12th January 2018 Sh. Rajiv Saizal, Honorable Minister Social Justice & Empowerment Government of Himachal Pradesh visited CORD Training Centre, Sidhabri and understand the Comprehensive, Integatred and Partcipatory Rural Development actvities of CORD Training Centre Sidhbari.

District administration Kangra in collaboration of CORD Training Centre, Sidhbari has selected three PWDs associated with the program which includes Sh. Mohinder Singh, Vice President ChinmayaUmang, Ms. Jyoti Bala Silver, Medalist World Winter Games 2017 and Sh. Abhishek Bhatia, a young entrepreneur asDistrict Icons for the upcoming LokSabha election 2019.District administration is initiating the efforts of Election Commission of India and disability sector for the inclusive and accessible election for PWDs across the country. This would further give impetus to the active engagement of PWDs in the system of democracy at the top as well as at the bottom of pyramid.
