With the blessings of Gurudev, CORD began its integrated rural development work in Sidhbari, Himachal Pradesh, under the aegis of the ChinmayaTapovan Trust, as Chinmaya Rural Primary Health Care and Training Centre (CRPHRTC). The USAID-funded collaborative project with the Government of India ran a primary health center, six outreach health sub-centers and focused on various health issues.
CORD was established as a separate trust to replicate the above rural development work established at Sidhbari, Himachal Pradesh, nationally, further strengthening CORD Training Center in Sidhbari as CORD’s resource and national office.
Began work in Odisha and Tamil Nadu.
After the tsunami, CORD’s work was replicated in Sri Lanka under CORD Sri Lanka as a separate and independent entity and trust.
Chinmaya Vijaya, an orphanage for girls, established in Kaza, near Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh under CORD.
To lend support to CORD’s work in India and Sri Lanka, CORD USA was formed by Guruji Swami Tejomayananda as a separate and independent entity and trust.
CORD Training Center Sidhbari, Himachal Pradesh, began satellite sites in Uttarakhand and Punjab.
A new complex of CORD Training Center was inaugurated at Sidhbari, Himachal Pradesh on the Centenary Year of Gurudev to cater to the growing demands of training in rural immersion.
CORD reaches out to 942 villages within 286 Panchayats in India.
