CORD USA is a separate and independent organization from CORD India. It is registered as a charitable trust in the USA.

CORD USA was formed in Michigan, US, in 2009 to broaden the organization’s scope of work by connecting resources, promoting social awareness, and leveling inequalities across the continents.

Along with raising funds for CORD’s work in India and Sri Lanka, CORD USA also undertakes service activities for the underserved in North America too.

Various international corporations such as IBM, HP, United Way, and Dell have also extended their financial support to the American arm of CORD.

Further, the Indo-American youth are seen to create unique awareness programs, focusing on social services and local involvement in developmental programs. Such involvement has enabled the next generation to become an essential component in developing a community.

Over the years, CORD USA has tapped into the collective community conscience to support and sustain the efforts and work of various charities.

CORD USA also conducts an annual high school service program that is extremely popular with Chinmaya Mission members in the USA. Through the program, the young volunteers experience first-hand the joys of helping others with the support and guidance of seasoned CORD India volunteers.

CORD USA has earned the distinction of being named ‘Top-rated Non-Profit’ in the United States for three consecutive years, specifically in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
