Cervical Cancer Screening Camp

Cervical Cancer Screening Camp

Over the last three years, CORD Siruvani, in a heartfelt collaboration with GKNM Hospital in Coimbatore, has been a beacon of hope in the fight against cervical cancer. They have undertaken a significant initiative to screen 650 women for cervical cancer using the HPV self-sampling method. This project transcends mere medical intervention; it represents a profound commitment to the health and well-being of women in their community. Each woman screened is seen not just as a number but as an integral part of the community, whose health and well-being are of utmost importance.

This noble cause saw women who tested HPV positive being referred to GKNM Hospital for further diagnosis and treatment. Remarkably, the hospital ensured that treatment was accessible to all by arranging the necessary funds, thereby eliminating financial barriers to healthcare. CORD’s role was pivotal in mobilizing these women, achieved through spreading awareness and fostering a supportive environment during Mahila Mandal Meetings. The free screenings and treatments provided are not just medical services; they symbolize a deep-rooted commitment to nurturing and safeguarding the health of women, bringing hope and healing into their lives.
