This is the story of Mrs. Bui Devi, who hails from Village Kudsa, Panchayat Kudsa, Block Indora. Mrs. Bui Devi was living illegally by building a temporary shed on government land as no land was available in her husband’s name, due to which she did not get the benefit of any government facility. Her husband worked as a laborer, but earning from this was not enough to buy land to build a house. Bui Devi has three sons, of whom the elder one is a daily wage laborer and both the younger sons are still studying. The SHG formed by CORD emerged as a boon to Mrs. Bui Devi, thereby fulfilling Bui Devi’s dream of having her home on her land. Chinmaya Lakshmi Self Help Group was formed by CORD in the year 2018 in Mrs. Bhui Devi’s village in which Mrs. Bhui Devi was also included as a member in this group. She took a loan of Rs 50000 from this SHG and bought half a kanal of land to build a house. Initially, they started living by building a shed on their land. In the year 2021, Mrs. Bui Devi again took a loan of Rs.100000 from her SHG and built her own house in which she is now living happily with her family. Later Mrs. Bhui Devi bought a buffalo by taking a loan of Rs 25000 from her SHG. Now she is earning ₹15000 every month by selling buffalo milk. Bui Devi now again wants to buy another cow by taking a loan from her SHG so that she can increase her income by expanding her milk business.
