Raman Bala

Raman Bala, a 36-year-old resident of Chuharpur village in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, has faced a challenging journey. Seven years ago, her life took a harrowing turn when she was involved in a truck accident that severely fractured her pelvic bone. In the aftermath, her small family, consisting of her devoted husband and their eight-year-old daughter, who is currently in 3rd standard, has been her pillar of strength.

Her husband, a laborer, has been the family’s backbone, dedicating himself to taking care of them. His unwavering commitment has seen him spending all their savings on Raman’s ongoing medical treatments, a testament to their family’s resilience and love. During these trying times, Raman found support in the community through her involvement with CORD’s facilitated Mahila Mandal and Self-Help Group.

In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity, CORD extended a helping hand by providing financial assistance for Raman’s medical expenses. This support has been a beacon of hope for Raman and her family, helping them navigate through this challenging phase of their lives. Grateful for the kindness and support, Raman extends her heartfelt thanks to CORD for standing by her and her family during their time of need.
